A classroom poster in Ansel Reeve's speech and debate room—several students suspected he made it himself.

Ansel spent years teaching teenagers to project, open the ribs, and never apologize

before making a point. In the Saint Brigid ER waiting room he rated his pain

"maybe a four" and smiled to reduce the burden of his symptoms on the room.

The room accepted the reduction. His last words: "I think I should have made

more of a fuss." The poster outlived the man who could identify birds by sound

but failed to notice when a person was furious beside him.
